The DNI rules ask for a recent colour photo of the face, 32 × 26 mm (26 mm wide, 32 mm high), with a plain, uniform white background, taken from the front, with the head uncovered and no dark glasses or anything else that makes identification harder.
The Policía Nacional adds that the photo can be at most 2 years old, that head coverings worn for religious or medical reasons are accepted if the face is fully visible from the hairline to the chin, and that eyes must be open, with prescription glasses letting them be seen.

A good source photo
Face the camera in even light, with your whole face visible and a neutral expression. A sharp phone photo works well; skip filters and beauty modes.
Wrong background?
The File Work spots a background that isn’t plain white and can replace it before you print. It can’t make every photo acceptable: check the result before you use it.
Optional light correction
Portrait Enhance is off by default. For official photos a natural look is recommended, so leave it off or keep it light.

What size is a Spanish DNI photo?
The official text says 32 × 26 mm: 26 mm wide and 32 mm high. That’s the size The File Work prints.
Does the background need to be white?
Yes: plain, uniform white. If yours isn’t, The File Work can replace it before you print.
Can I use an iPhone photo?
Yes. HEIC photos open directly. Use a sharp photo, facing the camera, in even light.
Can I print it at home?
Yes, on A4. Print at “Actual size” (100%), not “Fit to page”, and cut along the guides.
