The service

The File Work (thefilework.com) is a practical tool for preparing files: compressing, converting, resizing, signing and getting images and PDFs ready for where they need to go. Your files are yours

You keep ownership of your files. The File Work doesn’t claim any rights over your content, and most processing happens on your device (see the Privacy policy). You must have the right to use and process the files you choose.

Check the result before you use it

The File Work checks results against the requirements it knows or understood, and tells you what it couldn’t check or meet. You remain responsible for the final file and for how you use or submit it. Websites, forms, printers and offices can have rules The File Work doesn’t know, or change them, so The File Work can’t guarantee that a file will be accepted by any service, organisation or authority.

ID and official photos

The File Work helps prepare images according to known technical specifications where available. It is a preparation aid: it does not guarantee acceptance by passport offices, DNI authorities, government agencies, print shops, online forms or other services. Please confirm the current requirements with the authority concerned. Portrait Enhance is optional and off by default in official-photo workflows.

Automatic results

Background removal is automated and may be imperfect around fine hair, fur, transparent materials, thin objects and complex edges. Portrait Enhance only adjusts light, colour and skin smoothness; it is not identity verification and doesn’t confirm that a photo meets any official rule. A watermark or logo mark shows ownership or that a file is a preview; it doesn’t guarantee copyright protection or stop copying.

Acceptable use

Don’t use The File Work for anything unlawful, to process content you have no right to use, to forge or alter documents to mislead, or in ways that disrupt the service or its servers.

Availability

The File Work is provided as it is and as available. Features may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. Keep your own copies of your original files.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, The File Work is not liable for indirect losses, or for losses arising from rejected files, missed deadlines or how a prepared file is used. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.

Tus archivos son tuyos

Revisa el resultado antes de usarlo

The File Work comprueba los resultados con los requisitos que conoce o ha entendido, y te dice lo que no pudo comprobar o cumplir. Sigues siendo responsable del archivo final y de cómo lo usas o lo entregas. Las webs, formularios, imprentas y oficinas pueden tener normas que The File Work no conoce, o cambiarlas, así que The File Work no puede garantizar que un archivo sea aceptado por ningún servicio, organización o autoridad.

Fotos de carnet y oficiales

The File Work ayuda a preparar imágenes según las especificaciones técnicas conocidas, cuando las hay. Es una ayuda para prepararlas: no garantiza su aceptación por oficinas de pasaportes, autoridades del DNI, organismos públicos, tiendas de impresión, formularios en línea ni otros servicios. Confirma los requisitos actuales con la autoridad correspondiente. Mejorar retrato es opcional y está desactivado por defecto en las fotos oficiales.

Resultados automáticos

La eliminación de fondo es automática y puede no ser perfecta en el pelo fino, el pelo de animales, los materiales transparentes, los objetos finos y los bordes complejos. Mejorar retrato solo ajusta la luz, el color y la suavidad de la piel; no es una verificación de identidad ni confirma que una foto cumpla ninguna norma oficial. Una marca de agua o un logotipo indica la propiedad o que un archivo es una vista previa; no garantiza la protección de los derechos de autor ni impide que se copie.

Uso aceptable

No uses The File Work para nada ilegal, para procesar contenido que no tienes derecho a usar, para falsificar o alterar documentos con intención de engañar, ni de formas que perjudiquen el servicio o sus servidores.

Disponibilidad

The File Work se ofrece tal cual y según su disponibilidad. Las funciones pueden cambiar y el servicio puede interrumpirse o dejar de ofrecerse. Guarda tus propias copias de los archivos originales.

Responsabilidad

En la medida en que lo permita la ley, The File Work no responde de pérdidas indirectas ni de las derivadas de archivos rechazados, plazos incumplidos o del uso que se haga de un archivo preparado. Nada de estas condiciones limita la responsabilidad que la ley no permite limitar, incluidos tus derechos como consumidor.
