ppi = image pixels per inch of print, filling the paper edge to edge. 300 ppi looks sharp even up close; 200 is good for most prints; posters seen from a distance can use less. This is The File Work’s guidance: the printer, paper and viewing distance also matter. The File Work never enlarges images, because that can’t add real detail.

Pixels decide the size
A print looks sharp when there are enough pixels for every inch of paper. The File Work shows this for each size, and never enlarges the photo, because enlarging can’t add real detail.
